On the night of November 9-10, 1989, the Berlin Wall, symbolizing the division of Germany and Europe in two, fell, and on October 03, 1990, the Germans celebrated their reunification. These two resounding historical events had geopolitical, social and cultural consequences. What impact did they have on literature? What are these new perspectives, which must take into account the past, the upheavals and its identity?
Hélène Yèche will discuss the impact of history on literary production in Germany from 1989 to the present day.
