Exposition - Maisons des bords de mer - Modernité et régionalisme en Charente-Maritime 1945-1980
Dates & opening times
Descriptif
This exhibition retraces 40 years of the history of seaside residences in our region. Comprising some thirty richly illustrated panels and five models of emblematic villas, it tells the story of the villa's evolution into a simple seaside home, and bears witness to changing lifestyles.
Created by the Charente-Maritime CAUE, it is based on a study by architectural historian Gilles Ragot, who identified 12,000 houses in the coastal communities, including over 2,500 on the island of Oléron.
The exhibition will be open to the public from Saturday February 1, 2025. The museum will be offering a series of tours and workshops, meetings and events linked to the exhibition to the general public during the vacations, and to school groups throughout the year.
