Masanori KOBIKI began playing the piano at the age of six and was composing at ten. A student at the Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music (東京美術音楽 学校) in Japan, he graduated in composition in 1980 and in conducting in 1988. He continued his piano and chamber music studies at the École Normale de Paris, where he obtained the diplôme supérieur de concertiste de musique de chambre.
