9pm-9.30pm: Labess - Tout va bien

Labess' journey begins in Algiers, in the popular Hussein-Dey district.

Nedjim Bouizzoul grew up listening to the chaâbi music of his musical "big brothers". It was with his family that he migrated to Quebec at the age of 18. There, he played on the street or in the metro, to earn enough money for coffee and food.

Nedjim Bouizzoul defines himself as a self-taught street musician, Labess in Arabic meaning "Everything's going well".

Labess is an Algerian-Québécois group with an African flavour, blending the rhythms of rumba, flamenco and chaâbi, a music open to the four winds of the world.

The street musician is tall and his voice carries far into the horizon. To the question "Who am I? Nedjim answers: "a little from each country I visit, a little from each musician I meet". A plural and intimate music. Inhabited. Free.

Come and dance in the marsh that evening.
