Bruno Montpied is a painter, writer, researcher and collector, specializing in spontaneous folk art. Since the 1980s, he has been recording and documenting the creations of self-taught artists on the bangs of institutions, publishing his research in various books and specialist magazines. He is also the author of the blog Le Poignard Subtil, dedicated to spontaneous arts in all their forms.
