Descriptif
The original church dates back to the early Middle Ages, but was almost completely destroyed during the Wars of Religion.
It was rebuilt as we know it today in the 17th century, and then adorned with its remarkable saintongeais bell tower. The latter dates from 1713.
The entrance pediment is surmounted by an arch, and the door is surrounded by two majestic pilasters, preceded by a small step.
Inside the church, the nave is intersected by beautiful arches resting on round columns with carved capitals, and is lit by side windows adorned with stained glass depicting liturgical scenes.
The church also features a beautiful 19th-century work by local artist Omer Charlet, set behind the altar and surrounded by fine woodwork.
A little to the left is a sumptuous 18th-century altarpiece.
