L'école Henri Aubin
The school was built in 1888 thanks to donations from Mr. Dubois Meynardie, a wealthy grain merchant, philanthropist, bachelor and Freemason who bequeathed his fortune and possessions to the town of Marennes on his death in 1880.

His donation - in addition to the construction of the elementary school - also enabled the building of a hospital in Marennes.
The school's current name is that of a teacher, then principal, who served from 1942 to 1976.
