Pont Napoléon
Dates & opening times
Descriptif
The Pont Napoléon is not visible from the road, but you only have to walk along the river for a few hundred metres to see it. It spans the Brande channel.
Contrary to its name, it was built in the second half of the 18th century, before the reign of the Emperor.
The structure is not lacking in allure, with its paved deck. It narrowly escaped demolition in the 1970s, however, and was only saved in extremis by being listed as a historic monument.
