Descriptif
Along the oyster route, the Port de La Baudissière site will delight artists at heart. Its picturesque charm is due to the colorful little huts lining the channels. Used for traditional oyster farming, they have long been abandoned as the industry has modernized.
To preserve a testimony to the area's history, the huts have been rehabilitated and now form an unusual group of shimmering, vibrantly colored huts in the heart of nature.
Today, they are a haven for local artists, who have made them their studios. Open to the public, a stroll through the cabanes d'artistes de la Baudissière guarantees a dreamlike stroll from one universe to another: paintings, lamps, textile creations, hats, mosaics, crockery, jewelry, sculpture...
Atypical, authentic, photogenic, they offer a little show to the curious who discover them, and allow you to apprehend in a different way a whole section of traditional local history.
