Saint-Denis d'Oléron is the northernmost commune on the island of Oléron. With a capacity of 750 boats, it boasts the island's largest marina. Just around the corner is La Boirie beach, with its many colorful beach huts, an ideal family bathing spot.

With the aim of raising the profile of the Marennes Oléron region, the webcams of Les Huttes, La Cotinière and the Chassiron lighthouse have been co-financed by the European Union with the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD) and the Communauté de communes de l'Île d'Oléron. The webcams for Saint-Trojan-les-Bains and Saint-Denis d'Oléron were co-financed as part of the Nouvelle Organisation Touristique Territoriale (NOTT) project set up by the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region.
