80 years ago, Marennes was liberated from the German invasion.
On September 9, 1944, the FFI entered the town to liberate it. The CCLSO is organizing several events to celebrate this anniversary.
Screening of the film "Marennes 1940/1944", at L'Estran cinema, Monday September 9.
Exhibition and conference at Le Coureau bookshop.
Exhibition at the municipal gallery, from September 17 to 28: stamp panels on the local Resistance, period photos collected by the CCLSO and many other documents.
Parade of vintage military vehicles from Brouage to Marennes and Bourcefranc, starting from the US camp set up at the halle aux Vivres in Brouage, on September 28 and 29.
>> Saturday, September 28 :
10:30 am - 5:00 pm: opening to the public / Tour through the streets of the citadel to discover the various activities on the site / Departure in vehicles for a drive along country roads.
>> Sunday, September 29 :
Around 10:00 am: departure of the convoy to the Place Carnot in Marennes for an exhibition of all the vehicles (12 to 15).
11:30am: parade through the streets of Marennes > rue des frères Jabouille, rue du Maréchal Foch, rue François Fresneau, through Brouage, back to camp and lunch.
