Descriptif

Samuel de Champlain's pious and assertive wife, Hélène Boullé. Married as a child to Samuel de Champlain, Hélène Boullé was quick to rebel. The harshness of her stay in New France reveals her to herself.

Now a widow, she handled life's trials with nobility, before devoting herself fully to her long-held faith.

Catherine Goulletquer is an author, English translator and lecturer from the Charente region, now based in Loire Atlantique.

Over the past 25 years, she has published some twenty individual and collective works with a dozen different publishers.

Her career as a journalist in France and abroad, then as a biographer and transgenerational and integrative therapist, has led her to specialize in writing biographies, family histories and historical novels.
