Accueil Vélo label
The Accueil Vélo label is awarded to tourist accommodations, bike rental outlets, tourist offices and visitor and leisure sites located less than 5 km from the Vélodyssée and meeting the criteria of welcome, facilities and services adapted to the needs of cycling tourists.
How to become Accueil Vélo?
To be eligible, accommodation must :
- Be less than 5km from a signposted, safe cycle route
- Be classified or labelled if no statutory classification exists
- Offer appropriate activities and services for cycling tourists.
The "Accueil vélo" qualification covers specific services adapted to tourists on bicycles (e.g., being able to transfer tourists on bicycles to the next accommodation point, offering tourists on bicycles the possibility of washing and drying their clothes, making bicycles available, etc.). The quality of the accommodation is verified by a classification or a label.
How to obtain the Accueil Vélo label
- A visit to your business is organized with the local bicycle consultant, a member of the tourist office and a "trade" representative, depending on your activity.
- Your application is then studied by the departmental "Accueil Vélo" committee.
- If the commission gives a positive opinion, you will be listed as a "Accueil Vélo" on the various media dedicated to Vélo-routes (website, paper documentation).
- You will then be able to use the "Accueil Vélo" label and the "Vélodyssée" brand on your own communication materials.
- Your structure's label will also be identified on the Charentes Tourisme and tourist office websites.
Cost : €200 incl. VAT for 3 years.
