The sustainable tourism forum
4th edition, November 18, 2024
Sustainable tourism is a form of tourism that best respects the environmental, social and economic interests of the region and its inhabitants. In 2021, the Ile d'Oléron and the Marennes basin launched a process of reflection on a new tourism development plan.
It was adopted in 2023 and highlights the desire to move towards the development of sustainable tourism based on four main pillars:
- Tourism that respects the environment
- Spreading visitor numbers and bringing the region to life year-round
- Respecting local culture and authenticity
- For all and with all
The sustainable tourism forum is held every year in November at the Château d'Oléron citadel. During this forum for members of the Tourist Office, a number of speakers from a variety of professional backgrounds take turns addressing environmental and social issues in a format of conferences, round tables, plays...

During the breaks, participants also have the opportunity to exchange views with various organizations that have come specifically to present their actions.
The aim is to enable the structures present to ask themselves questions on these subjects, to provide them with leads and solutions to respond to the problems they face, and to put them in touch with networks...
For this fourth edition, the sustainable tourism forum will take place on the morning of Monday November 18 , and will close with a convivial lunch.

Two registration formulas are available:
- Participation in the forum without lunch: free
- Participation in the forum and lunch: 10 euros
We look forward to seeing you there!
